Sale of GEMA to UI Investissement & Quadia

Paris (France), October 7th 2020 – Founded and led by David Derkx, Groupe GEMA (Grandes Ecoles des Metiers d’Avenir) hosts financial investors to its capital, with the entrance of UI Investissement and the impact investment fund Quadia, in order to boost the development of ESI Business School and IA School.

Groupe GEMA is a private Higher Education group offering programmes from Bachelor’s to Master’s degrees, in both initial training and apprenticeships. Composed of two schools based in Boulogne-Billancourt – ESI Business School and IA School – the Group teaches students a combination of managerial and technical skills in the fields of sustainable development and artificial intelligence.

Its’ programmes, focused on the major challenges of tomorrow, enable the Group to stand out in the Higher Education market where the number of students is constantly increasing. Thus, after having trained nearly 750 students during the 2019-2020 academic year, the Group has registered more than 1,000 students for the start of the 2020-2021 academic year, and its ambition is now to become a reference brand in the Higher Education in France to train tomorrow’s professionals for the jobs of the future.

This project, led by David Derkx, is part of a very ambitious CSR strategy. It aims to develop a pedagogical content that combines business skills and technical knowledge and to open several regional campuses.

FDC is particularly pleased with this new transaction in the Education sector, confirming its’ sector expertise, and resulting in advising David Derkx, one of the future leaders in the sector, who succeeded in identifying and strongly developing two key verticals for the present and the future.
